We started this because we had a shelf of expensive mistakes.
Decant Perfume is a Canadian fragrance decanting service. We buy real bottles, pour them into proper atomisers, print the batch code on the label, and ship them anywhere in Canada — so you can find out what you actually like before you spend three hundred dollars finding out.
The problem with buying fragrance
Fragrance is the only luxury category where the industry expects you to commit a hundred and fifty dollars — often four hundred — based on a two-second spray onto a paper card in a shop that smells of forty other things. It does not work. Skin chemistry changes a fragrance, the first ten minutes tell you almost nothing about the next eight hours, and the fragrance you love in the shop is frequently the one you never reach for at home.
The result is predictable. Almost every serious fragrance wearer has a shelf of bottles bought on impulse, worn twice, and quietly resented. We had that shelf. It cost us thousands of dollars and it is the entire reason this shop exists.
What we actually do
We buy fragrances at full retail through authorised channels. We photograph each bottle when it arrives, record its batch code, and keep that record for as long as we are pouring from it. When you order, we fill a fresh glass atomiser from that bottle using a dedicated pipette, label it with the fragrance name, size and batch code, and ship it to you.
That is the whole business. There is no clever sourcing story and no grey-market supply chain, because both of those are how counterfeits enter the market. We pay retail, which is why a 10 ml decant costs what it costs, and it is why we can tell you exactly where your fragrance came from.
What we will not do
We do not sell fragrances we cannot verify. We do not top up bottles, dilute anything, or pour from a bottle that has been open longer than six months. We do not claim a decant is a specific batch unless we can show you the bottle. And we will tell you when we think a fragrance is not worth its price — there are several in our own catalogue where our honest advice is to buy the 2 ml and stop there.

The person deciding
You have your eye on one expensive bottle and you want to be certain. Buy 5 ml, wear it for a fortnight in real life, then decide. This is what we are best at.
The rotation builder
You do not want six full bottles taking up a shelf. Ten millilitres each of eight fragrances gives you a genuine wardrobe for the price of one designer bottle.
The seasonal wearer
Some fragrances only make sense three months a year. A tropical citrus or a heavy winter tobacco is a 10 ml purchase, not a 100 ml one.
