What Dior Sauvage Eau de Parfum actually smells like
There is no point pretending Sauvage is not everywhere — it has been the best-selling men's fragrance in the world for years and you will smell it on the subway. What gets lost in the backlash is that it is very well made. The EDP is the most balanced concentration: bergamot and Sichuan pepper up top, a soft lavender and anise heart, and a vanilla-ambroxan base that gives it a warm, slightly sweet finish the EDT does not have.
It lasts seven to nine hours, projects clearly for the first three, and is close to impossible to wear wrongly. Work, dates, weddings, groceries — it fits all of them. The reason it sells is not marketing alone.
If you are building a first fragrance collection, this is a reasonable anchor, and a decant is the honest way to find out whether the ubiquity bothers you before you spend a hundred and sixty dollars on a bottle.

Dior Sauvage Eau de Parfum FAQ
You will smell it on other people, and for some that is disqualifying. It is also genuinely good and universally well received. The EDP and Elixir concentrations are worn much less than the EDT if you want the DNA with a bit more distance from the crowd.
The EDP is warmer, sweeter and lasts around two hours longer. The EDT is fresher, sharper and better in real heat. The EDP is the more versatile of the two for a Canadian climate.
Yes. It is easy to wear, hard to over-apply, appropriate almost everywhere, and it gives you a reference point for judging everything else you try.
