What Dior Sauvage Elixir actually smells like
Elixir is the version of Sauvage that stopped being a fresh fragrance entirely. Where the EDT is grapefruit and pepper, this opens on cinnamon and cardamom and moves into a thick, almost syrupy lavender absolute and liquorice heart. It is the densest thing Dior sells at this price and it behaves accordingly.
Performance is close to absurd. Ten to twelve hours on skin, considerably longer on fabric, with a sillage that fills a car. Two sprays is the correct dose and three is too many — this is a fragrance that punishes enthusiasm. Used properly it is one of the best cold-weather masculines on the market.
The concentration is expensive per millilitre and you will never get through a 60 ml bottle, because you cannot wear this every day and you cannot wear it in summer. A 10 ml decant is arguably the ideal amount of Sauvage Elixir for a human being to own.

Dior Sauvage Elixir FAQ
Two, and no more. One on the chest and one on the neck is plenty for a full day. Elixir is dense enough that over-application is the single most common complaint about it, and it is entirely avoidable.
The EDT is the fresh, peppery original. The EDP adds vanilla warmth. The Parfum is smoother and creamier. Elixir is a different fragrance altogether — spicy, boozy lavender with enormous performance. Do not assume liking one means liking another.
Effectively yes in Canada. In heat it becomes cloying quickly. From October through March it is superb.
Longer than you would think — at two sprays per wear, roughly 55 to 65 wears. Given it is a cold-weather scent, that is comfortably more than one Canadian winter.
